Vlora is a coastal city in southwest Albania. Vlora is the second largest port city after Durres, It is the city where the Declaration of Albanian Independence was proclaimed on November 28, 1912. Established in the 6th century BC by the name of Aulona and continuously inhabited for about 26 centuries, Vlora is home to the Port Vlora and the University of Vlora as the most important economic and cultural city of southwestern Albania.
